About MacharSoft

So, what is it that MacharSoft actually does? We're a small Scottish company that deals in software for the various education authorities of Britain. Our main business has been with the computer education departments of various schools in Scotland and abroad, selling a programming language called UniComal, which is an evolved form of COMAL that provides a solid platform of experience to learn other, less novice-friendly, languages. If you want some examples of the language click on the Download Files Page button to download some COMAL programs with source code. The files are in zip format, so you'll need a version of WinZIP to uncompress them. If you don't have WinZIP, you can download a free evaluation copy from the Winzip.com website.

We welcome contributions on COMAL programming - articles, example programs, critiques, help files etc. etc. Please email us with any such material (in HTML format), and we will put it on the site. We will only publish material which has your name and contact details on it, so that others can argue with you if they want to!

MacharSoft also builds, rebuilds, upgrades and repairs PCs, and provides a PC hardware consultancy service for clients in south west Scotland.
