Dr. Van Degrift is a retired research phycisist with strong connections with Japan. In 1990 he set up KanjiFlash Softworks to develop and market "Kanji-Flash/BTJ", a flashcard companion for the University of Wisconsin's textbook "Basic Technical Japanese".
