Micro Energy Systems

Micro Energy Systems exploit the increasing use of distributed electricity supply and local generation. Generating systems in the range 20kW to 2MW for use in hospitals, supermarkets, leisure centres, government and commercial buildings, and housing generally are being developed and used in total energy systems including heating and cooling. Micro energy systems include:

Renewables

Renewable energy sources include wind, wave, tide, biomass, geothermal energy. This website will report on any carbon-neutral renewable energy project, such as a wood-burning power station, for example (in which the carbon dioxide produced has already been removed from the atmosphere by the trees whose wood is used as fuel). We are also interested in carbon-neutral technologies developed to allow us to continue to use fossil fuels.

Pico Energy Systems

Pico-energetics is the art of producing limited quantities of electrical energy primarily for individual or small domestic use, particulary suited to isolated dwellings or smallholdings and so on - even motor homes. Simple examples includes 2 kW diesel - electric generators, pico - hydro - electric turbines, single wind turbines producing a few kilowatts (for charging batteries, for instance) and many more.
