There are regulations about the collection and use of waste vegetable oil in the UK. Straight vegetable oil, as distinct from biodiesel or other fuels manufactured from waste vegetable oil, seems to be classed as a "fuel substitute" and therefore pays the same rate of road fuel duty as the sulphur-free diesel rate.
